Sisters Launch 21st Century Club Appeal
Will fund projects to enhance safety, well-being
As we celebrate our 50th year in our Motherhouse (Ursuline Educational Center), we continue to deeply appreciate the living and ministry space that serves us and many others so well.
Much of the reason our home is so functional can be attributed to all those who've helped support our Congregation's captial needs through our Century Club appeal. This appeal was first introduced in 1946, specifically to help fund the construction of our Motherhouse.
Today, the 21st Century Club Appeal continues to help us pay for major equipment and projects required to keep our home running safely and efficently.

Women Watch Annual Silent Witness Observance
Ursulines' Women Watch observance honored 80 Cuyahoga County women and children who have died violent deaths during the past year. The event took place April 9th. Ursuline Sisters, the college community and others carried red, wooden silhouettes bearing victims' names in a procession from Ursulines' Florence O'Donnell Wasmer Gallery to the campus' Pilla Student Learning Center, where the event ended with a prayer vigil.
The annual event began 13 years ago with the Cleveland Ursulines' response to the violent death of their own Sister Joanne Marie Mascha, OSU, in 1995. The Congregation established Women Watch to call attention to the problem of violence, to demonstrate the need for relevant systemic change and to offer an opportunity that might help heal grieving loved ones and friends.
On the 10th anniversary of Women Watch in 2006, the Ursuline Sisters' Social Justice Office collaborated with the Ursuline College Campus Ministry Office and Student Arts Organization for Peace and Justice to involve the students. |
