Contemplation and Compassion

The Ursuline Mission Statement calls us “to transform the world through Contemplation, Justice and Compassion.” I deeply believe it is what we need to heal ourselves and the world today so I am suggesting a couple simple transformative practices that can contribute to bringing about the transformation so needed and desired in our world today. (I do this myself)

Take whatever time is good for you anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour for contemplative prayer. When possible, meditate in the morning and evening.

Use your breath to help you center and quiet down. Focus on your heart space and breath. Once you are settled, activate positive emotions… Love, Peace, etc. Allow them to fill your heart and life. Send them as you are guided from your heart to the world. Surround the world with Love and Peace.

As you move through your day, periodically pause, reconnect with your heart, and send Love and Peace to our world allowing the Spirit to guide you!

May we be open to allowing the Holy Spirit to use us to bring peace and healing to our world.
