Celebrating 175 years of joyful service!
Back to weekly reflections
The Easter season is the second longest liturgical season in the Church year. Easter is ten days longer than Lent. We can celebrate the Resurrection for at least a week more than we worked through our forty days of Lenten penance!
I am always grateful that Easter is a springtime event. Even nature reminds us during this season that life is renewed every year, and the Resurrection of Christ is our guarantee that we are on God’s agenda of renewed and greater eternal life. That is the hope and promise of Easter we have as followers of Jesus.
Yet we need to remember how Jesus arrived at his transformation. The marks of the nails in his hands remind us of the cost. They also offer consolation that Christ Jesus precedes us on our journey and walks with us through death to resurrection. We have the sure and certain hope for eternal life in God because Christ has already marked our path for us. Just follow his footprints.
The Lord is risen! Alleluia!
He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
