Faithful and joyful servant
Sister Paulette, the former Mary Jane Snyder, was born in 1938 to William and Mary Snyder and was the sister of William (deceased), Karen, and Nancy. She was baptized at St. Joseph Parish in Collinwood and attended St. Gregory Elementary School and Beaumont High School. Sister Paulette entered the Ursuline Community in 1956.
After graduating from St. John College, Sister Paulette served as a primary teacher at St. Joseph in Avon Lake, Christ the King, St. Catharine and St. Francis de Sales before transitioning to Director of Religious Education at St. Francis de Sales and St. Clarence Parishes. Sister Paulette enrolled in licensing as a hospital chaplain at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Covington, Kentucky. Using the education she received there, she served as chaplain at St. Alexis Hospital and St. Michael Hospital and then at several women’s support agencies in the Cleveland area. Sister Paulette moved to the Motherhouse in 2014 and later transitioned to Regina in 2018 where she ministered in prayer and service.
Sister Paulette is certainly remembered for her fun-loving and outgoing ways. Her vibrant personality could light up a room and certainly a conversation! She was able to find humor, even in difficult situations. Her buoyant spirit enlivened every encounter with others. Sister Paulette is survived by her sisters, Karen Findlay and Nancy Lose, and the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland with whom she shared 68 years of her life. She was a loyal friend to Sister Carolyn Clines and Cynthia.
May Sister Paulette continue to find joy and happiness in the loving arms of our Creator.
