The Gospel reading for this past Sunday is about the prayers of the Pharisee and the tax collector. Just to recap: the tax collector asks God for mercy and goes home justified; the Pharisee thanks God that he is not like other people and is not justified. As a matter of fact, he was praying to himself!

As I reflect on this very familiar parable, I thank God that I’m not like that Pharisee…oh…wait!

God have mercy on me, a sinner!
