Recently one of my Ursuline sisters gave me the following poem by Rachel Marie Martin:

Don’t give up on this Year.

Keep fighting for the Good.

Keep showing up.

Keep Loving.

Keep giving back.

Keep being kind.

Keep being brave.

Keep caring.

Keep trying new things.

Keep showing grace.

Keep on.

The world needs you

To believe in the good.

We may read this and think: “What difference does it make?”

First it makes a difference for ourselves. When we soak in the desire to be all these acts, then we begin to radiate out a good, positive energy. It is coming from our hearts.

At this point, science and spirituality converge. We do not recognize our power, especially when we stand alone. But the HeartMath Institute has tested the frequency of energy coming from the heart and noted that it is 60 times the energy emitting from the brain. However, research suggests that coherent heart rhythms may even synchronize with those around us, supporting more harmonious relationships and environments. Our hearts are so reactive and dynamic that they respond to intuitive signals first—and the brain then follows suit.

From the HeartMath Institutes website it states:

“Learning to activate qualities of the heart such as care, kindness and acceptance increases our Personal Coherence™. The proven benefits of coherence also extend to our social and global communities. Social Coherence™ accesses a collective heart intelligence that helps lift group effectiveness, facilitating authentic communications and easier access to solutions for more harmonious outcomes. As individuals and groups practice increasing their heart coherence, it paves the way for a collective momentum that has the potential to transform and uplift consciousness on a global scale – Global Coherence™.

Lynn McTaggert, author, speaker, and pioneer in the new science of consciousness and intention noted that when a group of people come together and pray through the heart that the energy is boosted more and most likely to have a positive effect.

We are new to thinking that our hearts and minds could be unified in an intentional prayer/energy desire. This is more than telling someone you will pray for them, make the intention and hope for divine intervention. This is joining others at a particular time and day to be unified across distance and time zones. This is knowing with surety that our thoughts and energies will make a difference as stated in the intention.

In an evolving way we are recognizing that within each of us powerful good energy can change a trajectory that defines a death sentence, acts of war, disagreements between two parties, ,etc.

I join as often as I can the Heartfulness Intention for Peace on Zoom at 9pm. People are joining from all over. We begin with a relaxation of our bodies with the intention that peace begins within each of us. If we don’t feel peace it is hard to send out an intention for others. Then we sit in meditation for ten minutes while experiencing a synergy, or the combined power of the group that is greater than the total power achieved by each meditating separately

All that peace energy goes out and lands where it is needed. We must freely give it and not get demanding for anything in return.

The words of the poem encourage us to keep fighting for the good, showing up, loving one another and all creation, being kind, being brave and caring and accepting grace and showing it to others. These are our intentions and we believe in the Good.
