There is a painting of Jesus that came from a vision given to St. Faustian Kowalski with rays coming from his heart. The message was of mercy and grace.

In my meditation I envision light coming from my heart, too. This light is one with the Creator and the message is love and peace.

In thinking on St. Faustian I recognize that mercy is very important in healing emotional heart wounds when believing that I am not worthy. But because my heart is one with Christ, I confront the falsehood of that message. That message did not originate in me. It came from outside sources and I totally accepted it.

My peace comes from the awakening grace that the issue of worthiness is a human invention and not from God. For as God the Source of all life reveals that our oneness precludes being worthy. it is just a fact: I am worthy and awash with divine love.

The rays in the Divine Mercy image are the same that come from my heart and the hearts of all. I, we, everyone can lay down our barriers that separate us from God and each other. There is no separation. As the scales fell from the eyes of Paul (Acts 9:18) I see in a new way.
