The Center of my Life

As you may have noticed from one of my previous reflections I find that music helps me to frame my thoughts. Taking a page from the song "Center of My Life" by Paul Inwood, I will use the refrain from that song to “set the stage” for my reflection.

O Lord, you are the center of my life,
I will always praise you,
I will always keep you in my sight.

I studied the words and asked myself, if I truly believe that the Lord (Jesus) is the center of my life how is that shown?

I try to show this by intentionally beginning and ending my day with prayer,

and remembering to act as Jesus would in my daily interactions with others.

I believe that our foundress, St. Angela Merici, would encourage this way of being.

She reminds us to “let our first refuge be at the feet of Jesus who will teach us what we are to do.”

I also trust that those with whom I live believe and follow Angela’s model of living.

In this way I seek to make the Lord the center of my life.

May God grant all of us the grace to live in this manner.
