Musings on the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ

Mary pondered all things in her heart. Likely, she was the first to contemplate in awe about her son, “This is my body. This is my blood.”

  • Why is it that today women speak these words in fear or with courage instead of being embraced at our altars?

Women likely served the meal at the Last Supper and no doubt partook of the one body and the one blood as Jesus passed the cup and the bread.

  • Why is it that women are too often excluded as those commissioned by Jesus at that meal and today?

Eucharist is a sign of union as God’s people.

  • Why is it that for too many Eucharist has become a sign of division?

What are you pondering in your heart?
