Biography

Sister Joanne currently serves as legal counsel to the congregation. She began her ministry career as a teacher, with tenures at St. Charles (Parma) and Beaumont School. She served 16 years as a higher education attorney at Ursuline College, Case Western Reserve, and John Carroll, and worked 10 year for Cuyahoga County in a variety of positions, including manager of domestic violence programming/funding; legal services coordinator for a children’s mental health initiative; and senior policy advisor to the Cuyahoga County Council. In 2014 she was appointed president of Catholic Community Connection, a nonprofit collaboration, where she served until her election to congregational leadership in 2016, a position she held through June 2020.
