Biography

(Formerly Sister Cornelia, Sister Daniel Mary)

Sister Martha entered the Ursulines in 1959 from St. Mary Magdalene Parish in Willowick. After 10 years of her 50-year career in education, Sister Martha accepted the invitation to missionary service in El Salvador where she ministered with Sister Dorothy Kazel, one of the four churchwomen murdered there in December 1980. Upon her return home, Sister Martha resumed her teaching career. She enjoyed teaching and/or administrative tenures at St. Mary Magdalene (Willowick), Urban Community School, Christ the King (East Cleveland), Villa Angela Academy, Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School, and Beaumont School. Her final assignment was Urban Community School where she served as curriculum specialist, technology coordinator and accreditation coordinator. In retirement, she continues to minister, assisting with technology and tutoring.
