Sister Mary Ellen began her ministry career as a science teacher at Immaculate Conception (Willoughby) and at St. Jerome (Cleveland) schools, and continued as a science and theology teacher at Beaumont and Villa Angela while also assisting with the retreat program. After additional study, she became a pastoral minister and served at St. Ann (Cleveland Heights), St. Thomas (St. Cloud, Fla.), and St. Patrick (West Park). In subsequent years, Sister Mary Ellen embarked on a number of ministries including a woman-focused ministry and family ministry in Collinwood; principal at St. Mary School (Collinwood); retreat work; development work in the former Ursuline Sophia Center; service as a birth doula; campus ministry at St. Martin de Porres High School; pilgrimage ministry, and congregational leadership. Currently she directs the RCIA program at St. Anselm Parish in Chesterland.
