Remembering Sister Mary Sterle

Mary Sterle

Sister Mary Sterle was born in Cleveland in 1932.  Her parents, Andrew and Frances, were of Slovenian heritage and instilled in Sister Mary a love of that lineage.  Mary had a brother, Stanley, who pre-deceased her.  Sister died after a brief illness on Thanksgiving morning, November 27th, 2025.  Many nieces and nephews survive her. After her education at St. John’s College, Sister Mary engaged in classroom teaching at nine different schools for 47 years.  Following those years in ministry, she served as moderator of sodality, pre-school teacher, tutor, and service in the Ursuline Gift Shop.
