Among the many blessings of Sister Lucia's life was her 12 years of Ursuline education. "The sisters not only expanded my intellect but also nurtured my blossoming talent and vocation" she said. After joining them in 1950, Sister Lucia quickly learned of their active and contemplative mission and began a life of prayer and teaching ministry. For the next 60 years, she taught, laughed and cried with incredible partner teachers on the primary, secondary and college levels. A special joy of these years was the privilege of guiding young women in the development of their artistic gifts, and the many opportunities afforded her to use her own gifts, most notably, in the creation of the stained glass window of the St. Angela Chapel, giving expression in design to God’s generative love.
